Before being put into operation, high and low voltage distribution boxes must undergo systematic performance testing according to relevant national and industry standards to ensure that the equipment possesses good safety, stability, and long-term operational capability. Testing typically includes insulation performance testing, withstand voltage testing, grounding continuity testing, mechanical interlocking function checks, and temperature rise testing. Insulation resistance testing is a fundamental item; a megohmmeter should be used to measure the busbars, switch contacts, and connections between circuits to ensure that the insulation values ​​meet design and specification requirements, preventing leakage or breakdown during operation. The withstand voltage test verifies the distribution box's ability to withstand rated voltage and short-time overvoltage conditions; flashover, breakdown, or abnormal discharge must not occur during the test. For high-voltage distribution cabinets, the accuracy of operation of vacuum circuit breakers, disconnecting switches, and relay protection devices must be carefully checked to ensure rapid power disconnection in case of faults and prevent the escalation of accidents.

 

In addition to electrical performance, the structure and operational performance of high and low voltage distribution boxes are also key areas of testing. Inspectors must conduct a comprehensive check of the cabinet dimensions, sheet metal thickness, protection level, and internal component installation process to ensure the equipment complies with GB/T 7251 "Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies" and relevant power industry standards. During operational performance testing, each circuit should be powered on and tested to observe the instrument displays, signal indications, fan cooling, and whether the automatic control system is functioning normally. Simultaneously, the temperature rise at busbar connections should be monitored to prevent overheating and burnout due to poor contact. For distribution boxes with intelligent monitoring functions, the stability and reliability of remote communication, data acquisition, and fault alarm functions must also be tested. Through comprehensive performance testing, the safety and reliability of high and low voltage power distribution equipment can be effectively improved, reducing the subsequent failure rate and ensuring the long-term stable operation of the power supply and distribution system.
