Metal Materials

Metal materials are currently among the most widely used materials for distribution boxes, primarily including iron, stainless steel, and aluminum. These materials possess excellent electrical conductivity and heat dissipation properties, enabling them to effectively protect power distribution equipment and prevent damage caused by overheating. Furthermore, metal materials are characterized by high structural strength and superior seismic resistance, allowing them to meet operational requirements in a wide variety of complex environments. However, metal materials are relatively heavy; therefore, proper care must be taken during handling and installation to ensure secure mounting.

Plastic Materials

Plastic materials represent a lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and easily machinable option for distribution boxes, primarily comprising ABS, PC, and PVC. These materials exhibit excellent resistance to chemical corrosion, capable of withstanding exposure to acids, alkalis, salts, and other chemical substances; moreover, they do not rust when exposed to moisture. Additionally, plastic materials offer high moldability and can be easily and quickly subjected to various processing operations-such as cutting, drilling, and welding-to suit specific requirements. However, plastic materials also present certain limitations, such as poor heat resistance and susceptibility to aging; consequently, material selection should be carefully determined based on the specific application context.

Other Materials

In addition to metals and plastics, several other materials can also be utilized for distribution boxes. For instance, ceramic materials possess excellent heat resistance, making them suitable for use in high-temperature environments; conversely, fiberglass materials offer superior electrical insulation properties, making them ideal for applications involving high-voltage electrical equipment. However, the scope of application for these alternative materials is generally more limited, necessitating careful and prudent selection.
